Hohensax Ruins

The five of us hiked up to the Hohensax ruins in the adjacent village of Sax.  The castle was built around 1200 by the barons of Sax, it was at one time owned by the Austrians.  It was destroyed in 1446.  It would have been a 30 minute hike from our car if we had not taken a wrong turn.

The boys found giant swords on the way and the Daddy monster helping to make the hike up quicker.

Cute little mountain chalet on the way.

Lukas picked me a wildflower.

Taking the correct turn.

Realizing we were no longer following the signs.

We made it.

Eating the wild blackberries.

Walking back and the beautiful mountains behind our house.
