Fourth of July in Colorado

We spent a week in Colorado for a little summer vacationing. Our days were jammed packed with fun and friends.
First stop was GG's house. Lukas woke up to the dear the first morning. We were hoping for a bear.

Went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It has changed so much since I was younger. We meet up with a great friend and her family.
The giraffe exhibit was so cool. Never feed a giraffe before. The kids got to feed him too.

Climbing through pots.

The boys.

Alligators, mier cats, turtles, birds, grizzle...

Lily loved the grizzly. Aaah!

Feeding the chipmunks and an up close with the mountain lions.

Bubbles to finish the day.

The boys at dinner.

GG got Lily a new bee.

Erik's favorite thing to do in Colorado, the Manitou Incline. One mile almost straight up, then a few miles to jog down.

Swimming at the Garden of the Gods.

Lily enjoyed putting her feet up in GG's high chair.

First stop in Vail, Gore Creek on the Covered Bridge.

My mom saved my Ariel from when I was little. Lily loved her new mermaid.

Playing in the fountains.

Happy as a clam, a really cute one :)

Waiving from up top.

Fly fishing with my honey.  Just like the good old days. Grateful for how easy it is to get a fishing license in the US.

More splashing in the fountains.   Lily enjoyed too.

Riding the bus.

Pre-Fourth of July celebration in Avon. Music, games, food and lovely fireworks.

Passing the time until fireworks with Dad. A little dancing and her favorite game, peekaboo.

Light swords.

Lily loved the fireworks. Logan not so much. The Avon fireworks were some of the best we have ever seen.  The Prince of Liechtenstein had nothing on this show.

My Fourth of July babes.

We went to the parade in Vail and then walked down to the festival.

It was very warm and sunny.

Putting the kids stickers on the map where they were born.

Lukas and I putting our faces on the mountain.

Lukas joined us for our last fly fishing excursion. We taught him a few tricks of the trade.

Another bus ride to the top of Beaver Creek.

A little bocce ball and Jack Ingram.

Lily was wild for Jack Ingram, singing and dancing all night long.

Enjoying a bottle and fireworks.

What a fun trip! Love you GG.
