Rapperswil Zoo

We finally had a day that wasn't so rainy and cold! We went to the zoo. Our friends Barbara, Jan, Anja, Nico and Annika joined. The kids just loved it.

The birds and animals love eating the popcorn.

Lukas playing with Nico.

The elephant eating popcorn over the fence.

Pony rides.

Logan opted out of the stroller, as usual.

Ended the day with the sea lion show. After almost four hours, we headed home.

Malbuner Kite Festival

We went to a kite festival up in Malbun, Liechtenstein. In the winter Malbun is filled with skiers, in the summer cows. The kite goers were scattered about the ski runs/cow paster. We had to carefully place our blanket away from the cow patties (gross!!! One of the many reasons we do not allow shoes in our house). There were kites flying from 7 different countries. I guess 8, if you count us. There were circles, squares, a pirate ship, tropical birds, an alligator... The weather was forecasted to storm but it was beautiful. We did lose one of the kites for a moment but luckily it flew straight into the giant sea lion ( a little embarrassing).

A little relaxation after kite flying and ice cream.

Not so Little

My babies are growing up way too fast. Lukas will be three in a few weeks and Logan is almost one. This year flew by.
Lukas' imagination is wild. He has pirate friends and flying cars. Just love it!

Logan is learning new tricks so fast. He learned to crawl, stand up, sit down, "Mama," and walk along furniture in just a couple weeks. If only I could tackle German that quickly! :)

Germany Part 3 of 3

The big surprise!

On our approach to Lego Land we started seeing random Legos in the fields. Lukas says, "what are they doing there?" Our response was we didn't know. Pulling into the parking lot Lukas says, "Wow!" We told him we were at Lego Land. That's when the arms and legs flailed. He was stoked. The long stare in amazement at the Lego Land sign was priceless. And the fun begins.

Look closely. Somehow Logan got a pickle on his head. Ha, ha.

What a fun day. There were so many Legos. Everything was made out of a Lego.

Germany Part 2 of 3

We stayed in Stuttgart. Cute town that was a lot bigger than I expected. Stuttgart is know as the cradle for the automobile, with both Porsche and Mercedes. One of Germany's largest wine producing cities. It is surrounded by rolling hills covered in vineyards.

We were able to do a little sight seeing while the boys napped in the back. The view of Stuttgart from the tv tower was magnificent. It is up on a hill, with the tower itself reaching about 280 meters in height. It was a quick ride up. The elevator moves at a speed of 10 meters per second!

Then we went into the city center to find Starbucks.

I didn't take a picture but we did have quite the cultural experience. We visited what we thought was a German music festival, turned out to be a Czech religious festival. Very interesting :)
